A Life Beacon

Dashrathbhai V Vyas

At the age of 5 Dashrathbhai was chose into the service of GOD SHIVA at Shree Chandramouleshwar Mahadev Temple at, VP Road, Bombay, by his father Vithalbhai.  He was an extremely emotional, selfless, devout, simple, hardworking, family oriented and loving person.

Very few people saw the purity of his soul and the simplicity of his character and came about appreciating the same. He did not enter a single dispute in his entire lifetime that I am aware of. Those ones that had to be taken up were either taken up by his brother or by his son at a later date. This was possible only by his character of giving up what other people required more than himself. A satisfied person at the end of each day of his life.

As a priest he had a 24 X 7 role in the temple which required simplicity, humbleness, and a infinite commitment towards Shree Chandramouleshwar. All days would begin at 4.30am and end at 10.30pm for 365 days without any vacations, and with very few appreciations. He was extremely connected with Shree Chandramouleshwar where he spent his life and gave it up too. Yes, he merged with the lord while serving him at 8.00pm 7th October 1992 just before the Aarti time in the temple precincts before the idol he worshipped all through his life and truly left for the abode of God. He got what he wanted, as he always said, "I want you by my side when I depart for the abode of GOD

He earned one thing a lot in his lifetime, "Respect",  from one and all for the way he lived his life - "like a beacon".

The best person in the world that I know of. He was MY FATHER.
